What the HELL is a Life Coach?



Is your life a hot ass mess? Do you have goals you want to achieve, but just can't get around to making it happen? Feel like you're on a hamster wheel of life & can't get off?


Sounds like you can benefit from working with a life coach. Life Coach?!? What is it really?


It's a type of wellness professional that help people make progress in their lives in order to attain greater fulfillment. A life coach helps their clients improve their relationships, careers and day-to-day lives by helping you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and then come up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle.


Life coaches are NOT therapists! A therapist focuses on treating and healing mental health conditions, helping people work through trauma, and other issues from their past. A life coach may help you deal with certain unresolved issues, but they cannot treat mood disorder, anxiety disorders, etc. Coaching is action-oriented; therapy is insight-oriented. Coaching looks at your present to help you create the future you desire while a therapist looks at your past to help you manage your present.


How do you know if you may benefit from getting a life coach? Here are some indications that you may need a life coach:


* Stuck in self destructive habits

* Negative self talk

* Major life changes i.e. divorce, new relationship, new job

* Stressful events i.e. loss of a job or just everyday life


Working with a life coach can be viewed as closing the gap between your current circumstances and the life you would like to lead. Some positive results from working with a life coach:


* Better work/life balance

* Enhanced creativity

* Improved communication skills

* Stronger relationships

* End of procrastination

* Improve goal attainment


So that's the jest of my dream job. I love working with my clients and watching them blossom like a beautiful hibiscus flower. LOL!
